Dreamin’ – Conoley Ospovat (cdrift.028)

Dreamin’ by Conoley Ospovat will be released in vinyl and digital formats on April 26, 2024.
It will be available on Bandcamp, and in select record shops.

After a relocation to the Pacific Northwest, Continental Drift’s
Conoley Ospovat turns in a laid-back EP befitting his verdant environs.

Even the most energetic of the selections, Last Month in Lincoln from
the B side, is anchored by an understated groove bopping along far
below the floating chimes & rolling bass-line at its forefront. The pace
across this record is often reminiscent of Melbourne’s Analogue Attic
showcases.

Harwood Summer Nights dispenses with percussion altogether, while
Dreamin’ (Daydream Mix) reimagines the titular downtempo breakbeat
tune as heard through a struggling FM radio receiver a little further up
the beach.

All tracks written and produced by Conoley Ospovat.
Dreamin’ vocals by Lindsey Flowers.

Mastering, lacquer cut, and pressing by R.A.N.D. Musik.
Distribution by Inch By Inch Distribution.

Shift into The Rogue – Pier Bucci (cdrift.026)

‘Shift into The Rogue’ by Pier Bucci was released in digital and vinyl formats on
February 10, 2023. It is available on Bandcamp, digital outlets, and in select
record shops worldwide.

‘Shift into The Rogue’ presents two pieces from an unreleased album Pier Bucci
recorded using only one synthesizer for all parts of the entire project – his longtime
companion, the Moog Rogue.

Combining his unique musical and rhythmic sense, love for alternative electronic
music from the 90’s (particularly sounds coming out on WARP Records at the time),
and the technical abilities gained from years in the studio, Pier has crafted
emotional, groovy, raw yet nuanced works – inspired by ‘the analogue, alternative,
positive, very beautiful music from that time’.

The result is a
masterwork, and a testament to the artistic and technical prowess of

this maestro of electronic music.

‘After 25 years of having this Moog in the studio, I decided to celebrate it’s 25 years
with me by doing an album only using the Moog Rogue. And that was the challenge
for me. To do an EP, an album, using only one instrument.

Why the Rogue? Why analogue? Well, it’s a little keyboard. Very simple. Very, very
simple. But – and I don’t know how – it is emotional. I wanted to create emotions,
and I don’t know.. it was giving me a nice feeling, to be able to make every sound
with this Moog. – Pier Bucci

All tracks written and produced by Pier Bucci.

Artwork and design by Pier Bucci.
Digital masters by Daniel Nieto.
Vinyl masters by Ma Spaventi.
Lacquer cut and pressing by R.A.N.D. Musik.

Pure Intuition – Conoley Ospovat (cdrift.025)

‘Pure Intuition’ by Conoley Ospovat was released in digital and vinyl formats on November 4, 2022.

It will be available on Bandcamp, digital outlets worldwide, and select record shops.

A Deep Lake is an easy, breezy, sky-blue house tune with a healthy
swing and a carefree bassline. The unhurried slow-build evokes just
the kind of outdoor jam that Ospovat frequents.

There are some small surprises as the record goes on, though.
The more dense, acidic vibe of Thick Air is a club-friendly workout,
while Chasonsa Vibes has an earthy groove with live drums and
half-sung vocals.

The sprightly, Kompakt-esque title track closes out this vibrant EP.

All tracks composed, produced, and mixed by Conoley Ospovat.
Chasonsa Vibes vocals by Chasonsa Women’s Group, Zambia.

Mastered by M.A. Spaventi at Spaventi Studio.
Lacquer cut and pressing by R.A.N.D. Musik.

‘Soul Travels’ by Conoley Ospovat will be released in digital and vinyl formats on September 2, 2022.

It will be available on Bandcamp, digital outlets worldwide, and select record shops.

This three-song EP is a thought-provoking, scintillating, surging trip that brims with presence and movement.
‘I’m Still Here’ juxtaposes driving beats and stuttering riffs with samples and vocoded vocals.

Track two, ‘Thoughts Without Words’, is a deep, slushy, percussive strut with some twists and turns.

The EP is rounded out by the title track ‘Soul Travels’; a stripped-down spacious techno jam built around a long vocal sample and sparkling synths.

Perspectives Shift – Conoley Ospovat (cdrift.023)

‘Perspectives Shift’ by Conoley Ospovat will be released in digital and vinyl formats on July 1, 2022.

It will be available on Bandcamp, digital outlets worldwide, and select record shops.

Number 23 from Continental Drift Records is all about the journey.
These are slowly evolving groovy tracks, never staying totally loopy and often being a bit
sly about the direction they’re headed.

‘Perspectives Shift’ begins as a floating tune centering around a
wandering bassline melody; it gradually churns thick with rhythmic action and counterpoint chords.

‘Deep Summer Techno’ is trippy acid that plays with time and space, floating and dancing in the languid,
stimulating heat and lush green of
a midwestern summer.

Finally, the whole B-side is dedicated to Conoley’s re-work of labelco-owner and
dear friend c_olvrin’s ‘Cryogenic Freezing Of Friends’, a
more Chicago-house excursion
full of groove and many-textured
details.

A1 and A2 composed, produced, and mixed by Conoley Ospovat.
B1 composed, produced and mixed by c_olvrin. Remix and additional production by Conoley Ospovat.

Mastered by M.A. Spaventi at Spaventi Studio.
Lacquer cut and pressing by R.A.N.D. Musik.

Live At Lounge O (Tokyo, Japan) – moments of truth (cdrift.018)

‘Live at Lounge O (Tokyo, Japan) by moments of truth is out now in digital format on Bandcamp and most other major online platforms.

From a kitchen in Tokyo to the Fuji Rock Festival, moments of truth fashioned and presented their own thought-provoking take on electronica – formed from raw sound, raw emotion, and the belief that the dance floor can be a place for exploring some of the most difficult and important topics we face as human beings.

Blake Cunningham guided the narrative with his inspired use of vocal samples, accents, and leads. Conoley Ospovat’s dance textures and grooves provided the vehicle underneath.

Despite numerous rehearsal and live recordings, moments of truth never committed anything to finality in the studio. ‘Live At Lounge O (Tokyo, Japan)’ includes two of their signature songs recorded live on October 15, 2004. This represents the first official moments of truth release.

All songs written, produced, and performed by moments of truth
